About Dr Malik
Dr Reshad Malik is a consultant old age psychiatrist. Since August 2023 he has been Lead Consultant Psychiatrist for the Enfield Memory Service and Care Home Assessment Team at Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust, where he has worked as a consultant since 2018.
He studied neuroscience at the University of Sussex and medicine at Brighton and Sussex Medical School, qualifying in 2009. He trained in old age psychiatry in north London and joined the specialist register for old age psychiatry in August 2018. From 2014 to 2017 he was a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Academic Clinical Fellow in dementia at UCL.
His research includes work on a blood biomarker for frontotemporal dementia, on amyloid PET brain imaging and on who may be eligible for new anti-amyloid treatments for Alzheimer's disease. From 2024 to 2025 he was a research champion for the NIHR Clinical Research Network North Thames, helping care homes take part in clinical research. He also teaches medical students at UCL and supervises doctors in training.
