About The Dementia Service
We are a private dementia assessment service, registered with the Care Quality Commission. Our consultant-led team assesses, diagnoses and advises people who have noticed changes in memory or thinking, and the families who support them, across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Phones answered 24 hours a day. Our clinical team is available Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 18:00.

What we do
We assess, diagnose, treat and advise. We do not provide home care or residential care.
- Private dementia assessmentA full assessment of memory and thinking, with every diagnosis confirmed by a consultant old age psychiatrist.
- Mental capacity assessmentIndependent capacity assessments and written reports for solicitors and their clients.
- Genetic testingTests for genes linked to Alzheimer's disease, other types of dementia and Parkinson's disease, with a consultation first.
- Old age psychiatry for care providersContracted consultant psychiatry for national care home groups and home care providers.
How we work
Consultant-led
Every diagnosis is confirmed by a consultant old age psychiatrist on the General Medical Council (GMC) specialist register.
Thorough
Each assessment brings together a cognitive examination, a blood test, a brain scan and a heart monitor, which a consultant reviews before giving a diagnosis.
Timely
Your first appointment is available the same week, and from booking to diagnosis typically takes 20 working days.
Joined up
With your consent, we send your report to your GP, so your GP has the full picture.
