About Dr Renjhen
Dr Rohit Renjhen is a consultant psychiatrist with more than 20 years' experience. He specialises in inpatient care for adults over 65 with mental health conditions other than dementia.
At The Dementia Service, he carries out dementia assessments, diagnosing cognitive impairment and ruling out other conditions and causes that can be reversed. He works with our multidisciplinary team to interpret the results and plan treatment. He also reviews medication, monitors how the condition progresses and supports families and carers.
Alongside his clinical work, Dr Renjhen is a Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board (PLAB) examiner for the General Medical Council (GMC). He also evaluates applications for specialist registration through the GMC's Portfolio pathway, formerly the Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR). He teaches medical students at Keele University and contributes to professional development through training on capacity assessment and dementia care.
He has presented at Grand Rounds and contributed to research and quality improvement work through the Old Age Psychiatry Strategic Group.
Research interests
Improving the quality of services for older adults, with a focus on dementia and mental health conditions in later life.
